Mark your calendars! On Saturday, October 4th at 3 PM, we're heading to Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium (2235 N Campus Dr, Evanston, IL) to watch Chicago Stars FC take on Denver Summit FC, and we want you in the stands with us.
A few years ago, a handful of us got together to cheer on our local Stars and catch a glimpse of Carson Pickett in action. We're bringing that energy back, and we hope our community grows every time we do this.
Why this game matters to us
There's something magical about watching your child watch a pro athlete who is just like them compete at the highest level. Our kids get to see, in real time, that nothing is putting a ceiling on how far you can go in the sport you love. We all want strong role models for our children, and Carson has given that to ours in so many ways.
This season, many of our own just started playing soccer for the first time, so we are more than ready to get loud from the stands.
This match also happens to fall during Hispanic Heritage Month, and Chicago Stars FC is celebrating with the Nuestra Ciudad promotions. It's going to be a full afternoon of community and culture, and we're glad our meetup lands on a day like this one.
Hello Carson Pickett
Left Back, Denver Summit FC
Carson just celebrated a birthday this week (September 15). She's spent her career making magic happen on teams across the country, from Seattle Reign FC to North Carolina Courage to Orlando Pride to Racing Louisville FC, and now suits up for Denver Summit FC in its inaugural NWSL season.
In 2022, she made history as the first player with a limb difference to play for the U.S. Women's National Team. Her career highlights include a 2024 NWSL Championship and Shield with Orlando Pride, two NWSL Best XI selections, and 185 NWSL appearances with 6 goals and 16 assists along the way.
For our kids, she's living proof of what's possible at the highest level of the game.
