3rd Annual LLLDAM IL Meet Up

Celebrating Limb Loss & Limb Difference Awareness Month Together

April is Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month (LLLDAM), and we’re thrilled to invite families, friends, and community partners to join us for the 3rd Annual Illinois Zoo Meet‑Up at Brookfield Zoo. This gathering has quickly become one of our most joyful traditions - a day to connect, celebrate, and make memories with others who understand the beauty and strength of our community - and enjoy a fun day at the zoo!

Watching this event grow over the past two years has been incredible, and we can’t wait to welcome both returning families and new faces.

This year is especially meaningful: the Limb Difference Collective Foundation officially received its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2025. With the uncertainty of being able to financially support families to attend the event, one of our founding goals was to be able to cover that cost, and thanks to generous support, we are able to cover zoo admission for immediate families of adults and children with limb differences who register to attend. We don't want a ticket price to prevent your family from engaging with community in one of the most special venues in Illinois.

📅 Event Details

• Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026

• Time: Zoo hours are 10 AM – 5 PM (arrive whenever works best for your family and stay as long as you want)

• Group Photo: 12:00 PM at the big Brookfield Zoo sign on the north side of the central pond

• Who’s Invited: Families and friends connected to the limb difference & limb loss community

• Dress: Wear ORANGE to celebrate LLLDAM and help us spot each other throughout the zoo

• Cost: Admission is covered for immediate families of individuals with limb differences who register. If you have a membership or tickets from the library or other organization, please note that in the registration.

• Parking: Not included — $17 North Gate, $20 South Gate, free for members
